Starfleet's Finest

It's that time of year again! Today, Space: 1970 celebrates the great William Shatner's birthday, and on Monday, we acknowledge the anniversary of Leonard Nimoy's birth. Both intrepid galactic explorers turn 81 this year!

  1. It's pretty hard to believe the man who played Captain Kirk is now 81, but it is nice to see that Mr. Shatner has aged much better in real life than the way he appeared "aged" with makeup in the TOS episode, The Deadly Years.

  2. And to think that he has just released another of his rather unique albums! You gotta love the Shat!

  3. ...You know, the Pajama Uniforms would have worked, had Robert Wise not insisted on muting down all the colors on the Enterprise. I've seen some Photochopping of screencaps of TMP, where the clothing colors had been retinted to better reflect the colors as seen on TOS. They actually made the Bridge look quite a bit less sterile, especially when the Turbolift doors were painted Barn Door Red :P

  4. To me, there will always be only one Kirk and only one Spock. Live long and suck it indeed, Zachary Quinto. (And Chris Pine, too.)
